ANALYTICAL SYSTEM: MICROMASS UK LTD.

Micromass UK Ltd., a Waters Corporation subsidiary, has a broad line of mass spectrometers for different applications.

For drug discovery applications Micromass offers different platforms based on its proprietary Z SPRAY™ technology. The  Z SPRAY™ technology provides high sensitivity tolerating even non-volatile buffers for API (Atmospheric Pressure Ionization) LC-MS and LC-MS-MS analysis.

For exact mass measurement Micromass offers its LockSpray™ technology. The LockSpray™ is a 2-channel version of Micromass’ Z SPRAY™ electrospray interface which uses a sample and a reference inlet. This system requires the flow rate not be greater than 200µl/min.

For higher throughput in parallel LC-MS analysis Micromass has now available its new MUX-technology™. The MUX-technology™ allows the connection of 4 HPLC columns in parallel for their simultaneous Mass Spectrometry analysis.

For LC-MS analysis Micromass offers the following systems:

  • Waters® CapLC™ system for capillary LC-MS analysis. For more information on this unit here at CombiChem Lab click here.
  • Waters Alliance® HT system for high-throughput analysis. For more information on this unit here at CombiChem Lab click here.
  • Waters ZMD 2000 and 4000 systems. These systems cover a mass range up to 2000 and 4000 Daltons, respectively. For more information on this unit here at CombiChem Lab click here.
  • The LCT™ system which uses orthogonal acceleration time-of-flight (oa-TOF) technology for exact mass determinations. This system is used for the analysis of large combinatorial arrays and quantitative ADME screening in drug discovery. For more information click here.
  • The Platform II™ system for GC, LC, CE, FAB, Particle Beam, DCI, APcI or Electrospray analysis. For more information click here.
  • The Quattro II™ system is a triple-stage quadrupole unit that comes with a multiple inlet system for GC, Particle Beam, LSIMS, APcI and Electrospray for MS/MS analysis. This system covers a mass range between 2-2000 Daltons with an option to to increase the range up to 4000 Daltons. For more information click here.
  • The Quattro LC system provides LC-MS/MS analysis in combination with the Waters Alliance® HT system for high-throughput ADME/PK screening in drug discovery. For more information click here.
  • The Quattro Ultima system combines the Waters Alliance® HT system to provide an integrated LC-MS/MS for high-throughput quantitative bioanalysis in the pharmaceutical industry. For more information on this system click here.
  • The GCT™ system is a GC-MS orthogonal acceleration Time-of-Flight (oa-TOF) detector for electron impact (EI), chemical ionisation (CI) or field ionisation (FI) analysis. This system provides high mass spectrum accuracy measurements (within 5ppm) of organic compounds. For more information click here.
  • The Q-Tof™ and Q-Tof™ 2 systems are quadrupole orthogonal-acceleration time-of-flight (Q / oaTOF) tandem mass spectrometers that provide LC-MS-MS data for proteomics, peptide sequencing, metabolism studies and structural analysis. For more information on the Q-Tof™ system click here. For more information on the Q-Tof™ 2 system click here.
  • The M@LDI™ system is a MALDI-TOF-MS unit for high throughput protein identification. For more information click here.
  • The TofSpec-2E™ system is a compact high performance Time of Flight (TOF) mass spectrometer that uses a Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption Ionisation (MALDI). This system provides full mass spectra up to 500 KDa providing information and analysis of sub picomole quantities of biomolecules  as well as synthetic polymer mixtures. For more information on this system click here.
  • The AutoSpec-Ultima™ NT® system allows ultra low-level trace detection for  applications such as monitoring of environmental pollutants or drugs of abuse. For more information click here.
  • The Platform ICP™ system is a novel LC-ICP-MS system used for the  quantitation of heteroelements in metabolite identification, and in combinatorial and drug discovery. For more information click here.
