REACTION BLOCKS: J-KEM SCIENTIFIC

J-KEM Scientific provides several options for combinatorial and parallel synthesis in small and large scale.

J-KEM's line of reaction blocks includes heating blocks, cooling blocks and reflux blocks. These reaction blocks sit on an orbital shaker where the temperature is controlled by a J-KEM unit. These blocks come in configurations where the blocks can be heated, heated and cooled, and heated to reflux. J-KEM has the following blocks:

  • Heated Reaction Blocks: They are available in 2 array configurations (8 x 12, and 9 x 9 arrays) with a temperature range from room temperature up to +130 °C.
  • Heated & Cooled Reaction Blocks: They are available in 2 array configurations (7 x 10 and 7 x 9 arrays) with a temperature range from -100 °C up to +130 °C.
  • Reflux Reaction Blocks: They are available in 2 array configurations (7 x 10 and 7 x 9 arrays) with a temperature range from -100 °C up to +130 °C.
  • Multi-Temperature Zone Reaction Blocks: This system allows the user to use 2, 4, or 6 blocks on a single shaker mounting plate, all blocks with independent heating regulation with a temperature range from -100 °C up to +130 °C.

For solid-phase synthesis J-KEM offers its line of Solid Phase Synthesis Reactors (SPS):

  • SPS: This sytem is available in 48-well and 96-well formats capable of accommodating 2-ml to 60-ml reactors, and heating.
  • SPS Micro: This system uses standard 0.8-ml or 2-ml/well deepwell plates.

SPE Station system

To complement the solid phase system line, J-KEM offers its autoamted SPE Station system. The SPE Station can monitor the solvent height of each column and it can be programmed for pre-conditioning, sample application, column washing and elution.

For solution phase chemistry J-KEM has the Lab Reactor. This system can accomodate blocks with different arrays (12-well, 15-well, 20-well, 24-well, and 96-well bocks), it uses glass reactor vessels and can be heated and cooled with a temperature range from -100 °C up to +130 °C. For 96 reactions JKEM's Lab Reactor can use either a glass microtiter plate with 96 reactor inserts, or shallow or deepweel plates.

For larger scale J-KEM also offers the KEM-Prep Reactor system. This system provides a maximum throughput of 24 discrete compounds per cycle, it can accommodate 25-ml and 50-ml glass reactors, it comes with a built-in condenser for refluxing conditions, it can be used for reactions under inert atmosphere, it has heating and cooling capabilities with a temperature range from -100 °C up to +150 °C, and mixing can be done by either placing the unit on a shaker or using magnetic stirring.

In addition, J-KEM also has the 6-Position Personal Reaction Station (6-PPRS). This system comes with all the features of the KEM-Prep Reactor system, except that it has a smaller footprint and it can only accomodate up to 6 reaction vessels.
