REACTION BLOCKS: TORVIQ

Torviq provides different systems for solid phase synthesis, including its new ENCORE system.

Polypropylene syringes equipped with a sintered polypropylene disks serve as disposable reaction vessels. Five sizes are available: 3, 5, 10, 20, and 50-mL.

The Teflon-made Domino blocks are reaction blocks for parallel solid-phase synthesis that use polypropylene syringes as reaction vessels.

The Domino blocks come in a microtiter plate footprint and are available in 3 array formats:

  • 2 x 3 designed for 50 mL syringes.
  • 3 x 4 designed to accommodate up to 20-mL syringes.
  • 4 x 6 designed to accommodate 2.5-mL and 5-mL syringes.

Domino blocks (Note: Torviq cautions on the use of syringes for overnight reactions).

The Domino reaction block takes up to 4 6x2-vessel racks sitting on a shaker for a maximum throughput of 48 reactions per cycle. The racks are designed to allow online solvent evacuation or solvent distribution through the use of a 2- or 3-valve solvent control. For more information on the Domino blocks click here.
Torviq's Don Cucna system allows parallel solid phase synthesis
in 96 reaction vessels on 10 to 50 mg of resin. As part of this system Torviq provides a 96-stainless-steel-needle aspirator station for simultaneous liquid removal from 96-well plates. For more information on this aspirator click here.
For the Don Cucna system Torviq has a 96-pin solvent dispenser station for simultaneous addition of solvents in 96-well plates. Solvent can be added by using a syringe or automatically by using a manifold-containing piston pump. For more information on this solvent dispenser station click here.
La Marast synthesizer allows parallel solid phase synthesis in 4 reaction vessels on 3 to 30 g of resin. The available reactions vessels for the La Marast synthesizer are inlcude 100 mL, 200-mL, and 450-mL conical centrifuge tubes. For more information on La Marast synthesizer click here.
Torviq offers a gas chamber cleavage station for the release of compounds bound to polymer supports. This gas chamber station comes in 2 different sizes to accommodate either 13 or 3 96-well plates. This chamber is designed to use either HF or HCl gas to cleave polymer-bound compounds in dry allowing the final compound uptake into a suitable solvent. For more information on this gas chamber click here.

Torviq has also available its new ENCORE system (Encoding by Necklace, Color and Reaction vessel) for directed sorting combinatorial solid phase synthesis on Mimotopes' SynPhase™ Lanterns. The ENCORE system is based based on a combination of three different coding techniques.

For the ENCORE system Torviq provides the following 5 tools to facilitate necklace-coding combinatorial synthesis:

The Arraying Tool arranges 96 random Lanterns.

The Magazine for arrangement and transfer of Lanterns.

The Lapis Tool (Lantern Picking and Stringing) to pick Lanterns from the Magazine an place into reaction vessels.

Reaction vessel loaded with 8 Lapis tools, 10 Lanterns on one Lapis tool.

The Dispensing Tool to distribute Lanterns into 96-well plates.

The Leveling Tool to distribute Lanterns into cleavage plates.

Torviq also offers protected amino acids and reagents for combinatorial and parallel synthesis. For more information about Torviq's building blocks here at CombiChem Lab click here.
