REACTION BLOCKS: WHATMAN

Whatman offers the CombiClamp™ for solid-phase synthesis. The CombiClamp is made of Teflon® coated aluminum, with a top and a bottom holding MuliChem™ or Uni-Filter™ plates in a sandwich fashion using clamps.

For the evacuation of reaction mixtures or work-up/cleavage of final products Whatman offers vacuum manifolds to assist in this process:

  • The UniVac I™ vacuum manifold unit is to evacuate and discard solvents or reaction mixtures when these are not longer needed.
  • The UniVac 3™ vacuum manifold unit can be used in the same manner as the UniVac I™ with the addition of accommodating deep-well plates to filter and collect final products in solution.
  • The VacAssist™ is a thin, transparent Teflon® membrane that is loosely placed on top of the Uni-filter during the vacuuming process

 

The MultiChem™ plates are resistant to solvents such as DMF, TFA, THF, acetonitrile, chloroform and methylene chloride (DCM) and they available in 24, 96 and 384-well format and allow chemistries up to 50° C.

The Uni-Filter™ plates are disposable filter bottom microplates available in 24-well, 96-well and 384-well format, in many volumes and different types of filters. The Uni-Filter™ plates are available in the following volume range: 100µl, 350µl, 800µl, 2 ml & 10 ml.

The MultiChem™ and Uni-Filter™ plates can also be used with Charybdis Technologies' Calypso reaction blocks for parallel solid-phase synthesis.
