HIGH-THROUGHPUT EVAPORATORS: GENEVAC TECHNOLOGIES

Genevac Technologies, a subsidiary of Apogent Technologies Inc., provides a robust and broad product line of high-throughput centrifugal evaporation systems for combinatorial chemistry, high-throughput screening (HTS), process development, and drug discovery.

For lead optimization Genevac has its EZ-2 & EZ-2^plus Personal Evaporator series system. The EZ-2 evaporators have a small footprint (width = 54 cm), are compact, have a condenser trap and vacuum pump built-in, and easy to accommodate around a lab. The EZ-2 is designed to handle relatively low boiling point solvents while the EZ-2^plus is designed to evaporate higher boiling point solvents for which it is equipped with a heating chamber and a more powerful vacuum pump. Both personal evaporators come with a programmable pannel for optimized evaporation conditions as well as unattended runs. And to address all possible needs, these evaporators can accommodate flasks, tubex, vials, microtiter plates, and Radley's Greenhouse Blocks as well as Bohdan's MiniBlocks™.

Genevac also offers its new cost-effective DD-4X evaporation system. This centrifugal evaporation system allows heating and cooling, comes with  interchangeable rotors to handle test tubes, vials and microtiter plates.  For more information on the DD-4X system click here.

For higher and more robust needs Genevac offers the HT Series. The HT series offers integrated features to offer high-throughput and compatibility with a broad range of sample preparations and solvent evaporation conditions such as: Coolheat infrared technology to speed-up solvent evaporation (water, DMSO, etc.), highly efficient continuous running cryopumps for solvent condensation, high imbalance capacity to handle up to 85 grams, Trifluoroacetic acid resistant, and more.

The HT Series II evaporator comes in 4 models:

The HT-4X Series II offers a small footprint, electronically controlled lid for easy closing and opening and high safety control, digital display, remote door switch, and capacity to store in memory up to 100 runs. For more information on the HT-4X Series II click here.

The HT-8 comes with 8 sample swings to accommodate microtitre plates and many microtitre footprint tube racks or reaction blocks. For more information on the HT-8 click here.

While the HT-4 and HT-8 accommodate up to 8 and 16 deep well plates, respectively, the HT-12 unit offers the highest throughput holding up to 24 deep well plates or 48 shallow well plates. For more information on the HT-12 click here.

The new HT-24 can accommodate up to 96 shallow-well microplates per run, 576 standard 16 x 100mm fraction collector tubes per run, and it is the only high-throughput evaporatator that can evaporate two different solvents simultaneously. For for ultra-high throughput applications Genevac offers its Mega Systems. Genevac's  Mega series offers ultra-high throughput evaporation capabilities and it comes in 2 models: Mega 980 and Mega 1200. The Mega series accommodates Gilson's 19-24 and 207 rack formats. The Mega 980 can accommodate 64 deepwell plates and 112 shallow well plates, and the Mega 1200 can accommodate up to 120 deep well plates and 200 shallow well plates.

Genevac has now available Gilson Rack Sample Holders for use in Genevac Mega Evaporation Systems.

Genevac offers the HT Series II and Mega systems with a RS232 robotic interface for automated robotic operations.
