Micromass UK Ltd., a division of Waters Corporation, offers its LC mass-directed fraction collection system FractionLynx™.

Micromass' FractionLynx™ system uses an autosampler (initially offered with a Gilson 215 autosampler, now FractionLynx™ is offered as well with a Waters' Alliance® system) to feed an HPLC system that is in line with a 1/1000 flow splitter. This splitter sends 1/1000 of the flow to an online MS unit for continuous MS signal monitoring and the rest of the sample is directed to a valve. This valve, which is controlled by the MS unit, diverts the flow to either a waste reservoir or to a fraction collector when a sample with an expected molecular weight is detected.

FractionLynx™ software runs simultaneously with Gilson's UNIPOINT software,  Gilson's HPLC and Fraction Collector controller software, to control and coordinate the fraction collector with the MS unit.
