Thomson Instrument Company has available its SINGLE StEP™ Flash Chromatography Column (patented) product line of pre-packed columns (EM Silica, Standard Silica, C-18, and Amine) for sample flash column chromatography purification of samples ranging from 50 mg to 17 grams.

The SINGLE StEP™ Columns have many advantages besides being the “Original Screw-Top”. SINGLE StEP™ Columns are easily wet & dry loaded. The SINGLE StEP™ screw-top design allows the loading of hard to push-on oily substances, and other powder options.

The SINGLE StEP™ columns allow for loading samples dry (dry loading) or in solution (liquid loading) directly on the columns. Frits can be used to compac loaded samples when dry loading.

These columns cover the following sample purification ranges:

  • SINGLE StEP™ 4g: 50mg-200mg of sample (solvent flow: 6mL/min-20mL/min).
  • SINGLE StEP™ 12g: 300mg-600mg of sample (solvent flow: 6mL/min-20mL/min).
  • SINGLE StEP™ 25g: 700mg-1.4g of sample (solvent flow: 15mL/min-35mL/min).
  • SINGLE StEP™ 40g: 1.5g-2.5g of sample (solvent flow: 15mL/min-40mL/min).
  • SINGLE StEP™ 80g: 2.6g-4.1g of sample (solvent flow: 17mL/min-50mL/min).
  • SINGLE StEP™ 90g: 4.2g-5.6g of sample (solvent flow: 17mL/min-50mL/min).
  • SINGLE StEP™ 110g: 5.8g-6.5g of sample (solvent flow: 24mL/min-50mL/min).
  • SINGLE StEP™ 160g: 7.2g-8.4g of sample (solvent flow: 28mL/min-50mL/min).
  • SINGLE StEP™ 240g: 11.5g-13.8g of sample(solvent flow: 50mL/min-85mL/min).
  • SINGLE StEP™ 300g: 14.4g-17.0g of sample (solvent flow: 50mL/min-85mL/min).

The SINGLE StEP™ columns are closed with screw-down caps which come with standard luer fittings making the columns compatible with a variety of purification systems such as Thomson's SINGLE StEP™ Pump, Biotage® and ISCO® systems.

Thomson offers its SINGLE StEP™ pump, a robust, modular liquid pump that is compatible with halogenated and non-halogenated solvents. This pump is light weight and has a 4" x 5" small footprint making it easy to transport and place on workbenches and hoods. The SINGLE StEP™ Pump can also work with fraction collectors.

The SINGLE StEP™ Pump is availabe in 3 models: 1mL-100mL for 50 mg-15 gram scale, 20mL-400mL for 5 gram-50 gram scale, and
44mL-1Liter/minute for 10 gram-100 gram scale.
