Lion Bioscience 's iDiscovery™ technologies seeks the integration of predictive models of chemical entities to biological targets to design and synthesize lead drug candidates for clinical development.

Lion Bioscience 's  iDiscovery™ technologies centers around Trega's proprietary elements: iDEA™ and Chem.folio™.

Lion Bioscience 's iDEA™ (In vitro Determination for the Estimation of ADME). This computational module predicts ADME properties of compounds to help select drug-like compounds as prospect drug leads. The Absorption Module, the first commercialized predictive module running under Microsoft® Windows 95, 98, or Windows NT 4.0, takes compound solubility and permeability data to predict human  oral drug absorption. The data input for the Absorption Module include:

  • Caco-2 cell or rabbit duodenum, jejunum, ileum and colon intestinal tissue permeability.
  • clogP or measured logP.
  • Dosage (mg).
  • Efflux ratio from Caco-2 cell or rabbit duodenum intestinal tissue.
  • Import data from Microsoft Excel comma separated variable file.
  • Solubility measured in simulated gastric fluid (pH 1.5) and simulated intestinal fluid (pH 5.0, 6.5, 7.0 and 7.5).

Lion Bioscience 's Chem.folio™ Chemistry Program provides a comprehensive collection of diverse combinatorial libraries as well as chemistry services. Trega's services include:

  • Access to predictive ADME models.
  • Availability to library subsets.
  • Compound resupply.
  • Custom synthesis services.
  • Directed library synthesis via solid or solution phase chemistry.

Lion Bioscience 's Lead-to-Hit Drug Discovery Program offers the synthesis one or more lead compounds in as short a time frame under contract and non-disclosure agreement basis. The services this program offers include:

  • Screening of compounds.
  • Dose response assays on hits.
  • 2 exclusive analog sets (100 to 1000 compounds).
  • Transfer of screening assays.
  • Selectivity assay of hits.
  • Early in vitro pharmacokinetic profiling of the best leads (Caco-2 permeability and metabolism assays).
