WORKSTATIONS: ADVANCED CHEMTECH (ACT)

Advanced ChemTech (ACT) as several synthesizers available. They offer peptide synthesizers, organic synthesizers and a new ultra high-throughput organic synthesizer.

Their peptide synthesizers line offer 5 different models:

  • Model 90 contain 2 reaction vessels
  • Model 348 and Model 396 offer 8, 16, 40 and 96-well ACT reaction blocks
  • Model 357 only has a 36-well ACT reaction block
  • Model 400 which is for large scale peptide synthesis.

For more information on ACT's peptide synthesizers click here.

Their organic synthesizers come in 3 lines:

  • BenchMark Organic Synthesizers. They come in 3 models: a) BenchMark 440 Omega that comes with a 40-well ACT reaction block, b) BenchMark 496 Omega which handles 8, 16, 40 and 96-well ACT reaction blocks, and c) BenchMark 384 Synthesizer that takes 16, 40 and 96-well ACT reaction blocks. Note that all the BenchMark synthesizers allow heating and cooling (-70 °C to 150 °C). For more information on the BenchMark synthesizers click here.
  • Labtech Synthesis System. This lower-cost unit differs from the BenchMark synthesizers in that it is a stand alone system without a liquid handler integrated in it. All reagents and solvents must be delivered manually. This system increases the synthetic throughput when combined with a BenchMark Organic Synthesizer. Once a BenchMark synthesizer has completed the liquid handling process to a reaction block the reaction block can then be taken to a Labtech unit to perform the synthesis process off-line (agitation, cooling, heating, etc.). • Venture: An Ultra High-Throughput Organic Synthesizer. This new system accommodates several 96-well ACT reaction blocks to carry out up to 10,000 reactions simultaneously. Liquid handling is performed using 8 probes via 2 robotic arms. Heating and cooling of the reaction blocks is also available. For more information on the Venture system click here.

ACT has just release a new 6-channel multiple probe to speed up the washing process. This new enhancement comes already integrated in all ACT's new dual-arm robotic instruments. They also offer it as an upgrade for their older dual-arm robotic models. For more information click here.
