Available from INTEGRA Biosciences, specialists in cell cultivation equipment, the CELLine cultivation system offers significant benefits to laboratories involved with cell growth and antibody production.

Designed for ease-of-use the CELLine utilises proprietary membrane technology to separate off the cell cultivation chamber with an upper semi-permeable membrane through which nutrient can diffuse and a lower one that allows gases to diffuse. Separate ports allow selective access to the upper nutrient supply chamber and the central cultivation chamber. This novel compartmentalised arrangement means that medium can be exchanged without influencing the function or growth of the cells and gases. Consequently, traditional cell growth limitations brought about by a lack of nutrients or the accumulation of metabolic waste can be overcome just as easily as Oxygen deficiency. Such optimised conditions promote significant cell growth and lead to drastically increased cell densities even to the extent of 3-dimensional cell growth.

CELLine with its novel membrane technology enables higher cell concentrations to be used in the cultivation chamber, highly concentrated cell products to be obtained and physiologically optimised cell cultivation conditions to be achieved. Compared to traditional bioreactors or tissue culture flasks stacked in incubators the CELLine significantly reduces material use, working costs & the time taken to harvest high concentrations of cells or antibodies. The result is a typical cost reduction of 40%.

The transparent design of the system enables visual control and microscopic observation of the growth process. Available in a choice of models the INTEGRA CELLine offers cultivation volums of 0.75 to 15 ml making the system suitable for both research and pilot plant cell cultivation processes.
