Available from Tecan (www.tecan.com) the GENios Pro reader combines an advanced on-board injector system and up to six detection modes in a very compact, high-performance platform.

The GENios Pro reader can be equipped with flash luminescence, glow luminescence, fluorescence intensity (top and bottom reading), absorbance (UV and Vis), time resolved fluorescence and fluorescence polarisation providing it with the high sensitivity and measurement capabilities to meet the growing demands of both academic and biopharmaceutical company research laboratories.

The product has been designed as an all-in-one solution for a range of applications in genomics, proteomics and drug discovery including: binding assays (receptor-ligand, protein-protein binding); gene expression studies via reporter gene assays; luciferase-based assays; BRET (Bioluminescence Resonance Energy Transfer) assays; FRET (Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer) assays; and cell-based assays, including those based on green fluorescent protein (GFP).

The GENios Pro and its updated version of Magellan software also comply with 21 CFR 11. Targeted for drug discovery, genomics, and proteomics applications, the GENios Pro can detect absorbance, luminescence, and fluorescence for microplates containing from six to 384 wells. The system can also screen a traditional 96-well microplate in about 30 seconds. For fast kinetic studies, such as dual-reporter gene assays, the system can accommodate up to three simultaneous reagent injectors for 96- and 384-well plates.
