Metabolon
Inc., a pioneer in the area of metabolomics research, has announced
that it has decided to adopt the CoulArrayTM technology from ESA
as an important component in the company's efforts to identify and
monitor small molecule cellular biomarkers of disease and disease
treatment.
The
CoulArrayTM technology is unique in that it uses a series of highly
efficient coulometric electrochemical cells to specifically monitor
metabolically active small molecule cellular components. The CoulArrayTM
system can be used to greatly simplify the inherent complexity of
metabolomics samples by filtering out mundane, "house-keeping"
cellular components. The unique design and properties of the CoulArrayTM
also facilitate easy data analysis of these types of often highly
complex samples. In addition, the CoulArrayTM offers the advantage
of being able to distinguish minute changes in metabolomics patterns
and components.
Walter
DiGiusto, CEO of ESA, Inc., said, "We are delighted with Metabolon's
choice of the CoulArrayTM for their use in metabolomics studies.
Their selection of the CoulArrayTM demonstrates the utility of ESA
technology in metabolomics studies, and represents the latest development
in our work with Metabolon to accelerate their operations and expand
their bioanalytical capabilities."
John
Ryals, CEO of Metabolon, said, "The CoulArrayTM technology
from ESA will be a significant component in our metabolomics technology
platform. We are pleased to continue our relationship with ESA as
we move forward in this important science."
