Unlike expensive robotic synthesisers, the Carousel 6 Place has been designed for use by individual chemists in their own fumehood. The affordability of the Carousel 6 Place brings all the productivity benefits of multiple parallel synthesis to the chemist at a fraction of the cost of any other comparable system. The Carousel 6 Place utilises the same proven technology as the popular Carousel reaction station to simultaneously heat and stir up to six 50 ml, 100 ml, 170 ml or 250 ml round-bottomed flasks. An expanding range of reaction flask options extends the utility of the system to accommodate the addition of solid and liquid reagents as well as performing azeotropic distillations. The small benchtop footprint of the Carousel 6 Place means that it uses very little fume cupboard space. Operating from ambient to 180C, with accurate temperature control to +/-0.5C, the patented design of the Carousel 6 Place ensures efficient heat transfer and refluxing. Powerful stirring and efficient mixing are provided using the latest elliptical rare earth stirring bars. Every aspect of the Carousel 6 Place has been designed for convenience. Designed by chemists it is easy to set-up and requires minimal training time. The unit allows each flask to be clearly visible and easily accessible for addition of reagents and solvents. Drop-in aluminium inserts enable flasks to be quickly inserted or removed. With no electrical or moving parts the Carousel 6 Place is highly reliable and maintenance free.
