The Mega 980 and Mega 1200 are floor standing units designed to provide ultra-high throughput solvent evaporation from samples in an extensive variety of formats. In addition to providing ultra-high throughput of smaller formats such as microtitre plates, Mega Series II systems have the capacity to handle multiple sample holders including fraction collector racks from LC/MS systems, larger reaction blocks and proprietary sample formats. With a 1.2 metre diameter internal chamber the Mega 1200 can accommodate and dry down simultaneously sixteen Gilson 22-style or eight Gilson 207 style racks on its four rotor positions. Taking advantage of technological advances Genevac have been able to significantly improve evaporation performance in the Series II Mega Systems through the use of higher-powered lamps, more sophisticated control software and increased condensing power. The systems are said to be 40% faster with like-for-like loads than the older model, making the improved Mega Series II twice as fast as any comparable machine on the market. As would be expected of a top-of-the-range system the Mega Series II Systems have an unparalleled range of options to enhance their performance and versatility. These include Dri-Pure anti-bumping system, continuous running condensers, solvent waste pumps, fumehood enclosure and condenser flushing system.
