Micronic
BV, specialists in traceable sample storage solutions, have introduced
a novel lockable closing system to ensure the security of samples
in tube racks.

The
new CovLoc is a robust, compact system that enables tube racks to
be simply and securely locked ensuring sample security during transport
or storage. CovLoc operates by simply moving the locker up or down
to open and close the rack lid. Securely locking on both sides of
a rack - CovLoc is designed to eliminate accidental lid openings.
The CovLoc has been thoroughly tested to operate even at low temperatures.
The
CovLoc will now be supplied as standard with Micronic RoboRack-96,
LoboRack-96 and StaboRack-96 products. The Retrofit functionality
enables existing users of Micronic Racks to also benefit from the
novel locking mechanism. The CovLoc is available in bags of 45 or
72 pairs to enable you to lock existing rack covers.
Working
with leading automation companies Micronic has developed an elegant
range of tube racks based upon the globally recognised Society of
Biomolecular Screening (SBS) standard footprint. Accommodating 96
individual tubes in the industry standard 96-well configuration
Micronic racks are fully compatible with all commercially available
automated sample handing and storage systems enabling significant
gains in productivity to be routinely achieved.
